Raffaella Umeton, MD MMSc, is Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she also serves as Associate Neurology Residency Program Director, Director of the headache division and is part of the MS clinic staff. Dr. Umeton is summa cum laude graduate of the Sapienza University of Rome School of Medicine and Surgery, where she also completed a 1-year Master in Headache Medicine summa cum laude. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she also accomplished a fellowship in neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis. Her clinical and research interests include association between gut microbiome and MS and the epidemiology of primary headache disorders in MS patients. She is also interested in medical education and serves on the Education Track Committee and on the Clinical Competency Committee for the neurology residency program at UMass. Dr. Umeton has served on Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Neurologic Association (MNA) since 2017, she been also a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis (CMSC), the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS), and the American Headache Society (AHS).
